Upset The Rhythm presents
Lose yourself in the minimalist sounds of Sarah Davachi as she performs songs from her new album, ‘Two Sisters’, to be released on 9 September.
Sarah Davachi is a composer of both electronic and acoustic (electroacoustic) music. Her music explores the intricacies of intimate aural space, using extended durations and simple harmonic structures that emphasize subtle variations in texture, overtone complexity, psychoacoustic phenomena, and temperament.
She is influenced by the minimalist styles of the 1960s and 1970s, Baroque slow-moving chordal suspensions and the experimental production practices of the recording studio environment.
As well as touring extensively across the globe, Davachi has shared the stage with artists including Grouper, London Contemporary Orchestra, William Basinski, Alessandro Cortini, Kara-lis Coverdale and filmmaker Paul Clipson.
Sarah will be joined on the evening by cellist and composer Anton Lukoszevieze.

Davachi is currently a doctoral candidate in musicology at UCLA – where she works on the aesthetic phenomenology of musical instruments and timbre in popular, experimental, and early music – and is based in Los Angeles, California.
